Pop Art Pink

Pop Art Pink

The colour pink flourishes within the Pop Art movement, with its bright commercial appeal lending a playful and commercial edge to several major art and advertising moments of the 1960s, from David Hockney’s bathers and Dan Flavin’s fluorescent light installations to the release of Dove’s pink soap bar. In his Marilyn series of ten silkscreen prints, Andy Warhol immortalises the bombshell as a pop culture icon through a predominantly pink lens.
